In 2008, the casting team of Balaji Telefilms invited Sushant Singh Rajput for their audition and Sushant Singh Rajput played the role of Preet Juneja in “Kiss Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil”. His character in the show was killed long ago, but the audience liked that character a lot.

In June 2009, Sushant Singh Rajput started acting in “Pavitra Rishta”, a serious and mature character. His work in the serial received widespread acclaim, and Sushant Singh Rajput received three major television awards for Best Male Actor and Most Popular Actor. This performance was his success and he made him step into films.

Directed by Manesh Sharma and produced by Yash Raj Films, the film deals with the theme of live-in relationships and was shot entirely in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
